    I’ve had migraines for about ten years now. I’ve been on Topamax, Imitrex, birth control, and a bunch of nasal sprays. Nothing works. Every time I got to a doctor they try to put me back on topamax. Has anyone been treated for migraines with something else that worked when topamax didn’t? I’m trying to looking into different treatment options but I’m not sure where to start.

    I get migraines at least twice a week and they’re usually so bad that I can’t do anything.
    I’ve kept a food diary and there never seems to be any correlation between food and the migraines. My mom and grandma also used to have migraines when they were younger.
    And I dunno if this is important but I generally have low blood pressure (98/56 was the last reading)

    Right now I have this wicked headache on the left side of my head. The pain is spread out from the back of my left eye to just above my left ear and even a little bit into my neck.   • Okay- So I know I am not going to get a diagnosis here but I thought maybe I could get some ideas. I have been experiencing neck pain right at the base of my neck, as the day goes on this leads to a severe headache that wont go away. I can move my head up and down, but not side to side. I have noticed that my vision is somewhat blurred, and my motor skills are feeling “slowish”– I mean.. I can drive my car, but I feel like when I type my hands are not moving as fluidly. It started off at dinner one night last week, and my whole body ached and my neck started feeling sore, so I thought I was getting the flu.. But.. I have not gotten the flu? Is this a migraine head ache? There is no way I could have pulled my neck, no car accidents– though it kind feels like whiplash. I have not participated in any activities other than walking.. So it is just strange to me to have this pain. It feel very internal.. (I use to be an athlete– this is different than muscle spasms, or pulled muscles) any thoughts, experiences? I am trying to be a “big girl” about this.. and I don’t want to over react– but I mean.. this is some serious pain.. not even a vicoprohin touched the pain. Yeah the neurological stuff is what has been raising red flags.. with out insurance, and being broke (whats new in this economy) I want be as productive with my time and money as possible.. But when I ask about help with tubal ligation information, or getting insurance to help pay for at least part of it, everyone is silent. Why? This was my original question: I have the following problems: slightly curved spine, psoriasis, panic disorder, anxiety, depression, and migraines. Can any of these be used to get insurance to cover at least part of the tubal? My brother had a vasectomy and his insurance covered it, but he’s in his 30s. I’m in my 20s. I could probably save up and pay for one myself, but I would much rather invest that money and dig my way out of poverty than spend it all on a tubal.     Hi all! I’ve been suffering from painful migraines all my life. I actually have one now that I’m really trying to get rid of because I’ve had it for the last 30 hours. I’m 28 years old and I don’t have any health problems even though I consider migraines a disability. The government should really recognize it as such too because migraines have affected my overall quality of life. I even have trouble exercising and studying because sometimes that’ll trigger a migraine. It’s really a curse. No doubt! As far as I know, I’m the only one in my family that gets migraines. I don’t know if they’re environmental, genetic, or maybe both. What are the strongest over-the-counter meds to very effectively treat and/or prevent migraines? I have no health insurance right now so I can’t just go to the doctor and ask for a med prescription because any doctor would want a boat load of money just for the little request. I’ve been pretty much using Tylenol and Advil all my life but I really want something a lot more stronger and a lot more preventative based. Please help me. Thanks!

  • I have a low grade migraine headache almost daily with a severe one about once a week. I have difficulty with prescription medications. Do you know of any good herbal remedies or natural cures? I’ve tried Feverfew, Peppermint oil, Melatonin and different “Herbal migraine remedy” pills. Any other suggestions? Thanks for all the answers so far….I do have food triggers that I can avoid….and MSG is one of them. The problem triggers that I can’t avoid are hormonal changes, weather changes and odors (perfume, air fresheners, lysol etc). I need help for the things that are not under my control. Oh… and I saw a chiroprctor for 6 months last year doing the 3x per week then 2x then one etc. It didn’t help. He was convinced that he could help me but when it didn’t he did some body kinesiolgy tests with different foods and determined it was food related and out of his ability to help me. aliecat asked: ...
  • i am having a terrible cold, i was having slight fever and major headache the past two days, now the fever is gone, but i still have headache and cold sweating sometimes. and i have a stuffy nose”not so bad, but won’t go away” I have taken so far, the Excedrin “extra strength”, some cough medicine, and i just bought the Advil, Liqui-gels I am wondering if that would help with the cold and the headache. because it says to relieve pain and headache due to “cold”, does that mean that it will help me get through the headache due to cold as well as the cold? i feel so tired and dizzy, please help!
